Great points Neil! I personally like "Make appointments with yourself". I find if I don't schedule time for myself, it easily gets pushed off. For me, this also extends this to family time; my wife and I schedule time for each other, one-on-one time with the kids, and even time for getting things accomplished around the house. If it's not scheduled, it will not get done.

Thanks Robert.
It's amazing how easily people can fill their days up with busy work while circling the wagons on the really important stuff. Hmmm. Perhaps that's next week's MMWU.

Great insight for all leaders, esp about low level, rut-like activities that prohibit us from getting EXCEPTIONAL work done. I take this one to heart as my leader has expressed his desire to get things done, and not move them around. Thank you Neil!

Neil, you are so right with this one. Being early is much better than being late. As a CPA, I am always facing a deadline. It is much better to have tax returns finished early than to be bumping into the deadline. We find that putting in more effort early saves in the long run. The last minute rush leads to mistakes along with the stress. I recommend that everyone be considerate of their tax preparer and get their tax information to them early and you will be rewarded with less stress and fewer mistakes. If you are early and you still get last minute service, maybe its time to find a new tax preparer.
